AyeTJ on his song "Let Me Go"

New release as of 2023

We love to discover new music and are so happy we stumbled across this gem. We asked AyeTJ a few short questions about his song "Let Me Go". Here's what he had to say about it..

What inspired this song?

“I hated the feeling of discomfort while waiting for God to answer my cry for help. I wondered if he heard my prayers or saw the injustices I saw. “Let Me Go” was written during a season of seeking answers. I was serving in ministry waiting for God to open the next door. I was frustrated by the trauma I saw in my students, coupled with feeling powerless to create change. I felt hopeless amid hopelessness. Despite those feelings, I sensed God pushing me to stand for something unpopular. Have you ever stood for something and wondered what was holding you back from speaking out? I was tired of waiting for God to bring justice to the students my heart burned for. The longer I stayed and fought, the more it hurt. I was tired of waiting on God to close a door I wanted to slam shut. This song is a cry out to God to be seen and heard. It is a song that is honest about the questions I wondered, but also a statement of faith. Despite my searching, I was certain God is good and just. Even though we find doubt in our situations, God has the final word. I find peace in that."..

What do you hope the listener takes away from the song?

"I hope this song meets the listener unexpectedly. I pray this song finds someone who is wrestling with their calling and is wondering, “What is my purpose because I don’t feel like I’m making a difference?” The chorus of this song is simple, but I believe it speaks to the chaos of life. “Lord, I'll wait for you, so please let me Go.” I believe this song will be an anthem to anyone who feels small in their situation. It may not feel like it, but God is in control and you can trust him because he is good. Wait on God, and seek his release."..

What can we expect next from you?

"This is my first song drop after an agonizing season of waiting. I believe the Lord has released me into this next season and am so excited for what is to come. Over the last 3 years, I have compiled a large catalog of music and will be dropping a new song/music video every 2 weeks in 2023-2024. I look forward to the journey, and meeting you all along the way! God bless!"
